Are you planning to attend the Luo Festival scheduled to take place tomorrow (Saturday) at the Tom Mboya Labour College in Kisumu?

Is there a story unfolding in your community? Let Hivisasa know

Here are a few things you should do at the event which I learned after attending past festivals.1.    Arrive at the venue in a carLuos are known for their love of classy things such as sleek and stylish cars. Expect the parking lot at the Tom Mboya College to be packed to the fullest, and not just with ordinary vehicles, but the latest models of cars. If you don’t own a car or cannot afford to hire one, you can collaborate with two or three friends who will be attending the festival to hire one or pay for a taxi. The idea is to arrive at the venue in a car.2.    Don’t be stingyVisit your bank and make a generous withdrawal. Attend the festival with enough money. You should be able to buy your friends and even one or two strangers a few bottles of beer. Even if you are the stingy type, just loosen up this once and let your money flow. Show some opulence. To have a great time at the festival, make sure you have some money in your wallet. If you are planning to get yourself a classy Luo lady, then be ready to spend. All women like being spoiled?3.    Get on the dance floorWhy are you even thinking of attending the festival if you are not going to dance? You will bore a lot of revelers if you just sit down the entire time. Get up and dance. Try out a few moves. Even if you possess two left feet, just stand up and hit the dance floor. As you dance, try to sing along. Everyone will be singing along and you will feel out of place if you just keep mum.
