Confirming the incident, Nairobi County commander Japheth Koome disclosed that the three who were found with the official IEBC materials have been thrown in pending further investigations.

According to Mr Koome, the suspects were arrested in Nairobi's Eastleigh Estate in possession of 33 voter registration forms.

IEBC confirmed the developments through their Twitter handle and said the suspects were already in police custody to give more information.

"They are in custody for being in possession of copies of transfer forms and not biometric voter registration kit as alleged."

Initially, it was reported that the confiscated items were the BVR kits stolen in a raid on Arabia Administration Police station last week.
