Three women are being held at Mauche police station in Njoro, Nakuru county for undergoing the outlawed FGM practice.
A man is also held for hosting the women in his house.
Gladys Madee, the Njoro deputy OCPD on Tuesday confirmed the incident and said the women aged 21, 29 and 30 underwent the outlawed practice and were arrested at a house in Tebeswet village in Kapkembo sub location.
"Members of the public informed the police about the incident and immediately police raided the house and arrested 4 suspects,"said Madee.
The OCPD noted that tests done on the women at Njoro sub-county hospital confirmed that they had undergone the cut.
The suspects defended themselves saying they underwent the process to avoid discrimination and intimidation from other community members who underwent FGM.
Madee added that police are pursuing a person who cut the women and other 3 suspects who escaped during the raid.
