A three-year-old girl who went missing in Site Estate in Naivasha has been rescued in Karunga town 50kms away following a massive social media campaign.
In the latest incident, the minor had gone missing over the weekend while playing with her colleagues outside their house.
According to Viwandani MCA Eunice Mureithi, a major social media campaign seeking the whereabouts of the minor kicked off son after she went missing.
She said on Tuesday that the picture of the girl was distributed in various groups and this saw the minor rescued by members of the public along the Gilgil-Nyahururu road.
“We suspect that the person who had kidnapped the minor dropped her by the road side after realizing that there was a major search going on,” she said.
She said that a family who noticed the minor stranded by the roadside came to her rescue before posting her picture on the social media platform before the parents moved in to collect her.
The MCA expressed her concern over increased cases of child abuse and abduction in Naivasha and challenged police to urgently address the issue.
This came as parents in Naivasha expressed their fear following an upsurge in cases of kidnappings targeting minors in various estates in the last one month.
Already two minors have been sexually abused and murdered in the sprawling Karagita estate.
