Police officers on Wednesday nabbed over 3,000 liters of local illicit brew in Gesima.
Speaking during the crackdown, area police boss James Musyimi said illicit brew dealers in the region will have tough moments.
“We have identified the trick the illicit brew makers are using. We shall continue with the crackdown," he said.
He police boss commended locals for their cooperation to ensure making and selling of illicit liquor comes to an end in Nyamira.
“It is through the cooperation of locals who are volunteering information to police that is helping us to destroy illicit brews.
"Locals are advised to venture into legal businesses to avoid the losses incurred when the security teams pours down the liquor,” said Musyimi.
He advised locals to stop borrowing loans from the government to start illegal businesses saying such people will be blacklisted.
