It will be a major clash in Kisumu beginning today as basketball, handball and hockey bigwigs convene in the lakeside city for this year's Kenya Secondary Schools games.
Over 60 schools will be battling it out for the trophies in the games, among them hockey giants Kamusinga High School and basketball champions Agoro Sare High School.
Already, Kamusinga Coach Godfrey Muleyi has warned their rivals that they are in for a very hard task, vowing to retain the or tittle, after beating Kisumu Day in last year's finals.
“We have trained well and are ready for the tournament. Our main objective is to retain our titles as we prepare for the county, regional and national secondary school games,” he said on Friday.
Tigoi Girls coach Ken Egovwa expressed confidence that his girls will return to Vihiga county with their basketball and hockey titles intact.
“We have trained well and are ready for the tournament. Our main objective is to retain our titles as we prepare for the county, regional and national secondary school games,” he said.
On the other hand, Agoro Sare will be trying to defend their handball and basketball titles in the male category. Their coach Benson Ochieng expressed confidence of victory.
“The boys are ready and raring to go on. We want to use these games to prepare for the county Term One school games,” said the tactician.
The Biro Lich High School Tournaments will begin today at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Grounds in Kisumu today.
