Trade and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya has told his critics within the ruling Jubilee Party to leave him alone.
The CS was weeks ago under fire from forces allied to Deputy President William Ruto, following claims that he was part of the team plotting Ruto's alleged assassination plot.
But responding in Tigania West, Meru County on Saturday, the former area governor told the team dubbed 'Tangatanga' to leave him alone, suspecting that they have a hidden motive.
Munya claimed that the plot is to kill his political career and now wants the group to let him concentrate on his job as a cabinet minister, a position some have said he should vacate.
He added that he has not done anything worth the bashing he is being subjected to, telling the politicians to stop following him around with attacks, as he is not one of them currently.
“I wonder what I have done to them to keep following me while spreading all sorts of falsehoods against me. I know they want to kill my political dream but I am telling them to leave me alone so that I can concentrate on my work,” he said.
He added that he is not in any position to kill anyone being a Njuri Ncheke member after he was accused of being part of the team that has been holding meetings at La Mada Hotel.
He now wants the relevant institutions to speed up probe on the matter, apparently hoping that the outcome will clear his name.
