The airlines flight left Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Aden Duale held up in Mombasa for hours.

Speaking at the airport where two flights, KQ608 and KQ 618 had been scheduled for Mombasa and Ukunda respectively were forced to delay from 3pm to 7:25 p.m. and 20:55 to 22:20p.m.respectively, the two leaders could not hide their anger.

However, Kenya Airways posted on its twitter account that all its flights were operating except a Jambojet flight number KQ436/7 that had a mechanical hitch earlier on.

“We are working together to ensure that all guests are assisted accordingly and regret any inconvenience caused,” KQ wrote.

Duale, who had earlier on met and addressed a forum for Youth from the Somali community at the coast, complained that the flight took longer than expected.

"I have paid Sh53, 000 and yet I have been here for hours. Many leaders are here including Kalonzo. We finished our meetings early only to come and get stranded here," said Duale.

He added: “Thousands of Kenyans have been stranded today since 11am, this is unacceptable and I think Parliament, which has the oversight role in making sure that Kenyans get services that they pay for. I was here since 2.30pm, I finished my function early,".

The Garissa Town MP also asked Parliamentary Committee on Transport and Infrastructure to summon the management over the delays.
