Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has lived to his promise of awarding wards with the highest number of registered voters in the county.
The promise, which he made in February when the mass voter registration exercise kicked off, was aimed at encouraging residents to register as voters in large numbers.
The governor on Saturday gave out a Sh1 million cheque during the ODM delegates conference at Citam Hall in Kisumu, in the presence of the party deputy party leader Hassan Joho.
However, the party is yet to decide which ward the cheque will be issued to.
The county boss also reiterated his commitment to making Raila's presidential dream a reality.
"I will mobilise residents to register in large numbers to ensure ODM forms the next government," said Ranguma, as quoted by The Star.
Ranguma was also quick to caution Nyanza politicians against overburdening Raila, something he said would interfere with his (Raila's) campaigns.
