Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has urged Kenyans to maintain peace even during any general elections.
The firebrand lawmaker took to his Facebook page on Sunday to recount the years which Kenyans have engaged in violence during elections.
According to him, the violence is against God's will and "we should all embrace peace and unity."
''We sinned against God in 1991/92. God gave us another chance. We sinned against God in 2007/2008. God gave us another chance. I am not sure at this rate if God will give us a third chance in 2022. Lord hear us, Gracious Lord hear us,'' read part of Moses Kuria's post.
''Holy Mary intercede for us. We lack energy, without you we are not going to make it, be with us Lord. (Hatuna Nguvu Yesu. Bila wewe hii Safari hatuwezi. Enda nasi bwana," he added.
The MP was reacting to a clip in which Rift Valley leaders led by Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot were weighing in on the current Mau evictions.
In the video, the Kericho Senator is heard lamenting about how the people are now suffering.
''We want our respect, we are tired with your warnings and it will reach a time when it will be like you have closed the door and beat a cat, when it comes back to you it will be worse. (Tumesema tunataka heshima yetu hii vitisho yenu tumechoka nayo, itafika mahali itakuwa kama umefungia paka, utaichapa lakini akipenduka utaona cha mtema kuni),'' says Cheruiyot in the video shared by Kuria.
