The National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition appears to have faded away from the Kenyan political arena.
The NASA coalition which faced off with Jubilaa Party in 2017 composed of Raila Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper party, Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya and Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC).
NASA boss Raila Odinga now says that the with what has remained of the coalition is the relationship in Parliament citing that the common course they were fighting for is now gone.
"What we united to fight for ended. If we had won, we would have something to share in the government. What has remained is the relationship in Parliament (Ile vitu ambayo tulikua tumeungana tutapigania ilikwisha. Kama tungekua tumeshinda, tungekuwa na vitu vya kugawanya katika serikali. Ile imebaki tu ni uhusiano wa bunge)," Raila stated.
ODM Secretary-General for ODM Edwin Sifuna announced during the campaign for an ODM candidate that the party had withdrawn from the NASA coalition.
The highlight of the NASA coalition was when its presidential candidate Raila Odinga held a parallel swearing-in ceremony as the People's President at Uhuru Park on January 30, 2018.
In what may have indicated the beginning of cracks in the coalition, some of the members of the coalition failed to attend the event.
Raila during the interview termed the absence of his running mates from the mock swearing-in the ceremony as cowardice.
