Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga on Monday faulted the government after the appointment of former Othaya MP Mary Wambui.
Mary Wambui was appointed as the Chairperson of the National Employment Authority for the next three years effective from October 14, 2019.
However, Wambui's appointment has been faulted by Senator Omanga who believes she is not in a position to help the Kenyans youths enslaved by unemployment.
In a post on Facebook, Omanga noted that her appointment was an insult to Kenyans youths.
''The Appointment of ex Othaya MP Mary Wambui to head National Employment Authority is a spat on the face of the Kenyan youth. You can't convince me that someone who is intellectually ungifted and has limited knowledge on the intricate challenges unemployed graduates are grappling with will be in a position to craft strategies and policy formulations to help eradicate unemployment in this country,'' wrote Senator Omanga.
Senator Omanga noted that the former legislator is rich and powerful but the position she has been given is way above her abilities.
She faulted the government pointing out that appointing Wambui means the government doesn't care about the rate of unemployment in the country.
''There are many things she is capable but not this. It’s now clear that unemployment in Kenya is not taken seriously,'' added Omanga.
