Deputy President William Ruto has insisted that no funds were lost in the Arror, Kimwaror project.
Speaking during an interview with NTV on Thursday at his Karen, Nairobi, Ruto said that the funds channeled towards the projects had not been confirmed as lost. The second in command argued that the project was not cancelled because the entire process was correctly allocated.
"Kimwarer and Arror dams were not cancelled because they were legitimate programmes," he said.
Ruto affirmed that there is no way such a huge sum of money could get lost in an office he is overseeing.
"Is it possible that, with us sitting in office, the government can lose Sh 21B? That's a fallacy," he said.
On the suspects of the alleged graft case, Ruto said that none of them has been found guilty of the offenses leveled against them. He further said that he was speaking as a Deputy President.
"I review was ordered which is within the law but it doesn't say there was any illegality or there was any money lost that is the reality. Has it been proven that any money was lost? It is my position and I am saying this sitted here as the Deputy President not a coin was lost," he argued.
The project saw Embattled former Treasury CS Henry Rotich and his PS Kamau Thugge fired from office.
