The arteries are well-known for conveying blood away from the heart to different parts of the body. They play an integral role in the body.

However, its primary function may be compromised by certain foods. Clogged arteries are caused by some foods. 

Here are the foods that clog the arteries:

1. Saturated fats

Foods loaded with saturated fats were found to negatively impact the cardiovascular system as noted by Dr Regina Druz.

"Saturated fats from animals, especially when combined with carbohydrates, appear to have a deleterious effect on heart health," says Dr Regina Druz, a cardiologist during an interview with Time Magazine. 

2. Fast food products

The dangers of these foods can't outweigh their benefits. Fast foods like fried chicken, pizza and French fries are loaded with more fat that normally enhances plaques buildup in the arteries.

3. Too many eggs 

Eggs are the best protein-giving foods. However, they tend to be dangerous to some extent when taken in excess. Among the risks that pose is that they damage the arteries.

4. Sugary foods

These include soft juice, sweetened juice, candies among others. They also pose more risks to your body by ravaging your arteries.
