Lari MP Mburu Kahangara has called on Kiambu County security officials to intensify security in the area.
Speaking to journalists at Lari Town on Tuesday, Kahangara urged the police to guarantee security of citizens this festive season.
The MP said the government has a responsibility to provide security of its citizens.
“Security officials should not relax in their quest to ensure law and order especially this festive season,” said the MP.
Kahangara said that security should be the first priority of every government adding that without it there can never be peace and development.
The MP on the same note lauded the security initiatives being put in place by the national government saying that it has cushioned Kenyans from attacks.
He said that the country has experienced calm and peace adding that the more investors and business people are likely to come to the country.
At the same time the MP asked residents to embrace peace and calm and use the festive season to help the less privileged in the society.
Kahangara said that he is working towards ensuring development in the constituency.
He assured residents of his commitment to better service delivery through the formulation of proper laws. The MP asked area leaders to work with him and the county government for the sake of development.
