Nakuru police have arrested two people suspected of being members of the outlawed Mungiki sect.

The two were arrested on Wednesday evening after they allegedly stormed Flamingo estate armed with machetes to stage an attack.

This is after a gang of attackers feared to be members of the dreaded Mungiki sect attacked the estate.

“The two were found with machetes, they will be charged after investigations are through,” police said.

Head of Administration Police Operations in Nakuru Barnabas Kimutai, confirmed the arrest.

He said his officers managed to arrest the two suspects and recovered the machetes.

The news emerged only a few days that the Inspector General of police warned that there are plans by politicians to revive criminal gangs ahead of the next poll.
