Nacada North Rift region Manager Eunice Warubia has urged chiefs and their assistants to help in the fight against the use of second generation alcohol in their areas of jurisdiction.
Warubia on Thursday said chiefs and their assistants know the people involved in the sale of alcohol therefore in a good position to fight the manace.
"I urge chiefs and their assistants to help us in the fight against the use of drugs and second generation alcohol by arresting and prosecuting those involved" she said.
She said that Nacada is determined to fight the use of drugs and alcohol among the youth who are mostly affected.
"We are carrying out sensitisation programme, educating people on the dangers of using drugs and alcohol in the North Rift. We are targeting youths involved in drugs and alcohol intake," she said.
She added that alcohol and drugs makes it difficult for youths to believe in themselves, forget their matrimonial duties and also to register as voters.
