According to Kisii County parents association, the county has delayed the release of funds hence giving needy parent’s hard times as their students are out of class due to lack of school fees.

Led by the association Secretary Evans Mokua at a Suneka hall the parents said the funds were supposed to be released in mid-December yet no single student has received the funds.

“We know the county government had set aside Sh70 million for the bursary and we were expecting the children to receive the money latest January 1st and if they won’t release the funds we will be heading to court for the same,” he added.

He accused the leadership of Ongwae for holding the funds that are set to help the needy and said they will keep an eye on the funds to ensure that they are not misused.
