Senior government officials and retired leaders who were in Tanzania for the just concluded 39th summit of Southern African Development Community (SADC) that was held in Dar es Salaam were all on their feet when 'Kwangaru' remix started playing.

Some leaders who attended the Saturday session included Tanzanian retired and current presidents Jakaya Kikwete, Benjamin Makapa, Ali Hassan Mwinyi and John Pombe Magufuli, DRC President Félix Tshisekedi, Zanzibar President Ali Mohamed Shein among others.

The leaders were seen singing along the song and making slow-church-like dance moves.

'Kwangaru' was one of the hit songs from Tanzania's WCB Wasafi led by Diamond Platnumz that was much loved by fans, including Kenyans.

The song was played more than once in a day in most of the media houses in the country.

The singer, Harmonize alias Konde Boy, decided to re-do the song, and this time around, he changed it from being a love song that praised a woman to a political song dubbed 'Magufuli' that praised Tanzanian President Dr Magufuli.

The new political version song was among the songs that were used for entertainment during the SADIC summit.
