A comedy of errors by the Kenyan side ensured that Senegal sealed their place in the last 16.

The game was yet another grim reminder of the Harambee Stars biggest vulnerability which the head coach of the Senegalese side Alliou Cisse appeared to have been aware of.

It was the desperate and comically physical defending by the Kenyan back line.

Thanks to the extremely physical Kenyan defence, the Lions of Teranga were able to get two penalties, one of which was saved by Kenyan goalie whose heroics were one of the talking points of the game.

In spite of the recurrence of the problems suffered by the extreme defending, not much has been done to address it.

Going forward Coach Sebastian Migne must work towards ensuring that this ever recurring problem is looked into with the seriousness that it deserves.

Teams will continue to exploit this vulnerability at the expense of the Kenyan team.

The focus should be on 'smart defending' not the physical defending that the Harambee Stars are currently employing to their own detriment.
