A week after reshuffle to Defense ministry as Principal Secretary, Major General Gordon Kihalangwa was on Tuesday received by military chiefs and CS Raychelle Omamo.
Last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta moved Kihalangwa from Immigration department, which saw him embroiled in many controversies such as Miguna Miguna deportation.
He replaced Torome Saitoti, who was shifted to Planning within Treasury. President Uhuru Kenyatta had relieved CS Henry Rotich and PS Kamau Thugge over Kimwarer and Arror dams scandal.
At the headquarters, Kihalangwa was ushered in by Ms Omamo, Chief of Defense Forces General Samson Mwathethe, Vice CDF Lieutenant General Robert Kibochi and all three service commanders.
"Defence Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Raychelle Omamo today welcomed incoming Defence Principal Secretary Maj Gen (Rtd) (Dr) Gordon Kihalangwa at Defence Headquarters Nairobi.
"Maj Gen (Rtd) (Dr) Kihalangwa replaces Mr Torome Saitoti who heads to the Ministry of State Department for Planning in the same capacity," said a tweet from KDF.
Major General (Rtd) Kihalangwa left DoD in 2014 following his appointment as Immigration Director. He would be elevated to PS in 2018.
Last year, Justice Chacha Mwita found him guilty of contempt of court together with Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang' i, and fined them Sh7.1 million for harassing Dr Miguna Miguna.
