Matiang'i told off those uncomfortable with his style of leadership, stating that he was only accountable to the appointing authority who is President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We only have one point of command in this country, and that is the president. Have you ever heard of a house with two masters? We are working for Uhuru and whatever he tells us to do with Kibicho, we will always do,” Matiang'i said as quoted by Standard.

In an exclusive interview with Sophia Wanuna aired on KTN on Wednesday, Senator Cherargei contended that what happened in Kirinyaga County was part of a larger scheme.

"What you saw in Kirinyaga is part of a larger scheme by a CS who should be non-partisan because he is in charge of security, you saw those videos of him saying he is answerable to President Uhuru alone.

"He is not answerable to Kenyans, that is even disrespecting Kenyans, the Wanjiku who elected Jubilee government to be in office, yet he had the audacity of lecturing and saying wacheni upuzi how can somebody sink too low and say he is only answerable to President Uhuru Kenyatta?" Cherargei posed.

Senator Cherargei went on to say that the CSs strong words smacked of disrespect towards the people of Kenya.

His words are consistent with the criticism that has been leveled at the CS by other DP Ruto-backing politicians.
