Speaking on Sunday during a wide-ranging panel discussion aired on Standard Media Group-owned Kenya Television Network (KTN), Mr Mokua held the view that by broaching protocol issues, the CJ spoilt an otherwise good press conference by allowing trivial issues to overshadow fundamental issues.

He was of the view that the CJ should have given prominence to the substantive issues.

Mr Mokua said that the ordinary Kenyan was not in the slightest interested in protocol issues but was rather interested in how he or she can get justice.

"When the CJ came out for the press conference, I think he had mixed up messages. While he made valid cases, he also spoilt the news conference by talking about protocol issues..." Dismas Mokua said.

In his address, the chief justice revealed the protocol issues that occurred during the Mashujaa Day celebrations held at the Mama Ngina Waterfront in Mombasa county.

The CJ said that that he accessed the dais using a sidewalk. He also expressed lamentation over his treatment at State House, having to wait for cabinet secretaries to be allowed in before he is cleared.
