An identity card is something very important to a Kenyan citizen. However, quite a number of people have no identity cards.
Elected Keiyo South MP, Jackson Kiptanui, says those adults who have no identity cards are not loyal to the country and that they give the government agencies a difficult time to manage security. Kiptanui wants such people punished. He has urged all adults to take the IDs saying it is important and will help them get voters card.
''Your ID will help you make crucial decisions like choosing your own leader. The identity card is also a good document to have since it will give you an identity,'' he said.
Other MPs have been on the forefront to urge adults from their constituencies to get the cards.
Kibera MP, Ken Okoth has also urged youths from Kibera to get their identity cards saying they should get them at the Huduma Centre in the area. This comes after it emerged that quite a number of people do not participate in the voting exercise.
