Village elders in Seme, the village of Oscar award winning actress Lupita Nyong'o have issue a stern warning to the actress after a video surfaced online showing her climbing a guava tree in a dress in the presence of his father.
The elders have raised concerns on the act which is considered as taboo in the community.
According to reports, the elders have called for a cleansing ceremony.
In the video released by Vogue a few days ago, Lupita is seen taking a walk with her father Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyong'o while climbing fruit trees.
The actress then prepares Ugali for the family under the guidance of her mother Dorothy Nyong'o
“It is a behavior which our society does not embrace. A father is supposed to be a family role model and the head of the house and under no circumstance is a grown up woman allowed to do that,” posed one twitter user
The reaction on social media has been diverse with some criticising the actress while others see nothing wrong with the act.
