Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has revealed that his Somali community will support Jubilee party in next year's general elections.
Duale, who is also the House majority leader, stated that the community has reaped much from President Kenyatta's administration, and so they would show their appreciation by supporting his re-election in 2017.
"We agreed as Somali community that we need to forge and unify our people. The community has reaffirmed their political commitment to support Jubilee Party and President Kenyatta in 2017 elections," said Duale.
Speaking at a forum that brought together members of the Somali community in Changamwe, the vocal Garissa politicians urged the Somali Community to rally behind Jubilee, and hence vote for Uhuru and his deputy for a second term.
During the function, a Somali elite Abdi Dayib was proposed as the next possible MP for Changamwe constituency to battle the incumbent Omar Mwinyi.
In attendance during the meeting were community leaders, professionals, religious leaders, women representatives and youths.
