Teso South MP Mary Emase said demands by the commissioners that they be paid their dues before leaving office is uncalled for and can jeopardize preparations for the 2017 elections.

"What the commissioners need to do is to vacate office and wait for their exit package at home," Emase was quoted by the Star as saying on on Friday when she spoke at Akites Trading Center in her constituency.

Emase further said she will defend her seat on Jubilee Party ticket even as she roots for the party's support in the region that has traditionally supported Raila Odinga's ODM.

According to the lawmaker, the Jubilee administration deserves a second term to complete development projects it has initiated.
