The Members of Parliament under the leadership of Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria have vowed to move a vote of no confidence motion against the minister saying that should Cord succeed in holding the demos, the CS will be be deemed to have abdicated duty which they say is contrary to the Oath he took while assuming office.

Addressing a news conference in Nakuru on Sunday, the legislators want the CS to implement the law and avert the resumption of the anti-IEBC demos which they say pose a high threat to the peace of the country.

Including Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, the leaders unanimously want Cord compelled to respect the law while pushing for their demands.

"I commend the president's stance on the opposition's quest for a round of bipartisan talks over reforms at the electoral management. He is right. The president has no power within the law to effect changes at IEBC," said Governor Mbugua.

Cord leader Raila Odinga has maintained his stance that should the ruling Jubilee coalition decline the bipartisan talks, the country would see a resumption of the protests starting Monday next week.

Jubilee has since expressed reluctance at Cord's gesture in a move that has shocked the opposition luminaries.

Other leaders at the Nakuru meeting were Molo legislator Jacob Macharia, Kuresoi North MP Moses Cheboi and Nakuru West MP Samwel Arama.
