In a tweet Monday, Etale dismissed purported WhatsApp screenshots making rounds on social media, purporting that he was involved in a conversation with the brother to the former area MP the late Ken Okoth.

He said that otherwise, he wouldn't have had to suffer to raise the money needed for the burial of his late elder brother Zacharia Etale who died a few weeks ago.

"If Imran gave me Sh2 million, I would not have cracked my head, pestering and bothering friends to stand with me to raise funds to bury my elder brother Zachariah. Wherever he is, he knows, his befitting send off," he tweeted on Monday.

He added that he has only engaged Imran once, when he called him on Sunday to advise him in how to conduct himself in the instance that he is invited to an interview, now that he is the ODM candidate.

Etale declared that he will resign from his position if he is found guilty of the said allegations.

"I only rang Mr Imran yesterday (Sunday) on instruction from my boss, the Secretary-General, to inform him on how to conduct himself in the event that he is invited for any media interview," he added.
