This is the fourth straight win for the Starlets who have not lost in the regional tournament.

Dorcas Shikobe, Jentrix Shikangwa, Mwanahalima Adam, and Corazone Aquino scored the goals for Kenya with Shikangwa finding the back of the net twice in the 54' and 72' minute.

This impeccable performance comes just days after the Kenyan ladies were bundled out of the 2020 Tokyo, Japan Olympics qualifiers by the Copper Queens of Zambia.

Winning the CECAFA tournament will be a much needed consolation for Starlets' brutal ejection from the Olympics qualification campaign.

Their participation had been in doubt over the lack of adequate resources but the Ministry of Sports intervened, releasing over 3 million shillings to cater for the Starlets' preparations.

It is hoped that their incredible performance at the regional stage will raise the profile of women football in the country.

The female football team still struggles to attract support on the scale that the men's national football team does.

In order to attract fans to support the women's team, the Football Kenya Federation has been wavering charges during Starlets' games.

Starlets will face either Uganda or Tanzania in the final slated for 25 November.
