Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has hit out at Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi over his 2022 presidential bid.
Speaking to members of the press on Sunday, the outspoken politician said Mudavadi does not have a strategy of ascending to the presidency, only an intention.
He further noted that Mudavadi's lack of strategy, is what forced him to part ways with the ANC leader.
"I divorced Mudavadi after I worked with him and I confirmed that he has not strategy of becoming president. What he has is an intention to become president, "Khalwale said.
Khalwale was once a supporter of Mudavadi, but ditched him and joined Deputy President William Ruto's camp.
He has since vowed to throw his weight behind the presidential ambitions of DP Ruto, who has clearly expressed intentions to run for the presidency in 2022, when President Uhuru Kenyatta's second and final term ends.
Mudavadi contested the presidency in 2013, but came a distant third after President Kenyatta and veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.
He has expressed intentions to try his luck in the upcoming general election slated for 2022.
Bringing together politicians from Western Kenya has proved to be an uphill task for the ANC supremo.
