Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah has accused nominated MP Maina Kamanda of hypocrisy, adding that he's so desperate about William Ruto's possible victory in 2022.
The former Starehe MP has been leading anti-Ruto campaigns across the country, accusing the deputy president of undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta.
But Ichung'wah, a close ally of DP Ruto, on Sunday asked Kamanda to resign as chairman of National Assembly Integration and Cohesion committee.
He insisted that the nominated MP has been leading a group of ethnic bigots to campaign against Ruto contrary to his role in the National Assembly.
"Kamanda Chairs the National Cohesion committee in the NA.If there’s a Kenyan dispossessed of his land 7yrs into the Jubilee admin. What is he saying of President Kenyatta’s admin? When did he realize this over the last 6-7 yrs such a person/s exist&where is that one such person?" he wrote.
"Kamanda’s desperation is REAL and he should resign as Chair of a committee that should be fostering national cohesion, yet he leads a brigade of ethnic bigots who were rejected by the people," he added.
At Kibra on Sunday, Kamanda insisted that McDonald Mariga is not a Jubilee candidate, adding the President Uhuru Kenyatta supports ODM' Imran Okoth for the by-election.
The firebrand MP also accused Deputy President William Ruto of allegedly grabbing lands across the country, adding that he's unfit to lead the nation.
“I’m a nominated Member of Parliament and directly answerable to the Jubilee Party leader, who is President Kenyatta. I cannot defy my party leader. Imran is the candidate supported by everyone behind the handshake between President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga.
