Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has faulted the opposition for failing to play the oversight role.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Monday, Musalia said that the leaders in the opposition have failed as far as pointing out the rot in the current government is concerned.
He noted that the leaders have joined their counterparts in governments in the looting spree when they should be fighting for the rights of the oppressed.
"On a broad scale, the opposition in the country has let the Kenyans down. This is the reality. I will be cheating myself and other people outside there if I say we have been playing an oversight role in government. We have not...We have seen in debates in parliament where parliamentarians in the opposition looking more government than the government itself. So this is a reality and we as ANC are taking it seriously," he said in part.
Mudavadi has maintained that National Super Alliance (NASA) is still legally in place despite ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga deciding to work with the government.
He has been raising concern over the huge foreign debt in the country in the recent past. The Luhya political kingpin has been warned the government against foreign loans.
