Attacks have been happening consecutively with the latest attack being on Friday morning which has left six people dead with scores and others injured.

Professor Francis Ogoti has advised the government to declare a curfew and quarantine and start a crackdown on the militants.

“The situation seems to be getting out of hand with the militants roaming at will. A curfew should be declared to help curb the situation and help the police identify these terrorists,’’ said Ogoti.

He said the militants who plant explosives along the road do so at night and a time when they can’t be spotted.

“Police cannot easily differentiate citizens from Al-Shabaab especially at night where they go and strategically organise and stage attacks camouflaging as citizens. A curfew for the region especially, from 7pm to 7am, should be declared,’’ stated the professor.

“It has worked in Mombasa and other places. Why shouldn’t it work now?’’ Questioned Ogoti.
