Igembe MP Mithika Linturi has warned Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba that his attempts to create a political 'tsunami' in the former Western Province may backfire.

He warned that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga remains the undisputed political kingpin in the region.

Speaking in a morning interview on NTV, Mr Linturi lashed at Ababu for not being sincere in his statements that portray Mr Raila as a bad leader to win the sympathy of the people of the former Western province.

He questioned him for having stayed in the party for that long if he knew that the party was not tolerant.

"Don't take advantage of the ignorance of the people to mislead them," Linturi said.

The legislator further reminded Namwamba that in 2007, he was the only elected MP to swear using the name of Raila and that his actions to create unnecessary rift in the party is not sincere.

Even the Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale warned Namwamba against being used by their political 'enemies' to create cracks within their parties.

Dr Khalwale said what is happening in Luhya land is not new and that those who go against common belief will face dire consequences including losing in the ballot.

He gave an example of Musalia Mudavadi and former Vice President Moody Awori who lost their seats in 2002 and 2007 respectively after 'betraying' the wishes of the community.
