The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has revealed that the suspects in the Barwako Lodge, Eastleigh robbery have been denied bail.
In a tweet on Tuesday evening, ODPP noted that their release might interfere with the investigations.
''9 accused among them 6 Police Officers deny 8 counts relating to robbery with violence. They are accused of robbing 2 Somali nationals of 60,000$ at Barwako Lodge, Eastleigh. .@ODPP_KE objected to their release on bail as likely to interfere with witnesses,'' wrote the ODPP.
The 9 pleaded not guilty to robbery with violence, conspiracy among other charges.
The court was told that the 9 allegedly committed the offence on 27 September and 4 October, 2019.
It was revealed that they also used firearms during the incidences. More so, they were found in possession of a vehicle which was suspected to have been stolen.
One of the police officers, PC Simon Mwandiki led detectives to his houses were severals items were recovered.
However, they were denied bail or bond as they were proven flight risk and also able to temper with witnesses in the case.
One of the suspects is a foreigner who could move out of the country when released while other are police officers capable of messing with witnesses.
