In what seems to be a case of love gone sour, two lovers were on Wednesday found dead in their house in Nguluni, Matungulu constituency.

In the single-roomed house lay decomposing bodies of Mariam Chalia from Kitui and Stephen Mumo from Mitaboni in Kathiani.

The incident was confirmed by Nguluni chief John Bosco Ndambuki who said that it's not established whether it's a suicide or murder case.

"I received a call immediately I came from the church. I was notified about the incident and I rushed here. The bodies had decomposed since they had stayed for like three days," said Ndambuki.

Elizabeth Syombua, the landlady said that the lovers had stayed in the house for 10 days.

She said that the lady,  had two lovers and at one point they, they met and a heated argument ensued.

"She had a boyfriend whom she lived with and another one who studied at UoN. At one point, the two men met and the girl claimed not to know the guy from UoN," she said.

"For over four hours, the girl and the other guy kept arguing. I didn't see them until today when I saw flies on their door," she added. 

The bodies were moved to Kangundo Level Four Hospital mortuary for preservation while awaiting a post morterm.
