The father of club DJ shot on Friday morning has come out to disclose details about his son's health status.
Johanes Orinda disputed reports being shared on social media platforms that DJ Evolve is stable and eating, saying the 24-year old is frail and can barely raise his hand.
“That shot was definitely fired to kill him. He could have died. He is a young man," he said in an interview with Sunday Standard.
DJ Evolve, whose real name is Felix Orinda, was shot at B-Club located along Galana Road within Kilimani in Nairobi.
Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili popularly known as Babu Owino has been linked to the shooting incident, and has since been arrested.
Johanes, who is a small scale Jua Kali trader in the city, said he was called at around 9am on Friday by a doctor from Nairobi Hospital, informing him his son has been admitted at the facility very sick, and requested him to rush there.
“The doctor told me my son had been brought to the facility and was very sick. When I got there, I could not recognise my child. He looked so frail. I thought I had lost him,” he recalled.
He said DJ Evolve had a hole on the side of his neck, noting he has already undergone surgery at the health facility.
Johanes said the hospital bill has risen to more than Sh600,000 and he was not sure how or who will clear it.
On the relationship between DJ Evolve and Babu Owino, the father said he was not aware how the two met, but speculated they could have met while he was deejaying.
"He started this DJ business just a few years ago and I think that is where he and the politician met,” Johanes added.
