Earlier this week, governor Mutua had invited Syokimau and Mlolongo stakeholders that included business community, transporters and representatives of residents associations to a meeting on Friday, July 1 to discuss matters roads and infrastructure in the area. 

Speaking at the event Mutua  promised to put up street lights from  Kapa company to Syokimau and to Mlolongo .The street lights will be  accompanied by CCTVs. This is set to reduce the level of insecurity in the area.The Sabaki dumpsite is also set to be cleared . 

Syokimau and Mlolongo residents had earlier accused Mutua of lying to them that the construction in the area would begin October 2015. 

The meeting also discussed other issues affecting the residents such as access to clean water,security and their general welfare. 

The meeting resolved that the construction of some roads such as Katani road, roads in and out of Syokimau, Mlolongo link roads and the Kikawa link roads begin from August 20th this year.

Mutua will meet the residents later this year to review the progress of the works.
