Migori Governor Okoth Obado has refuted claims he is funding Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba's Labour Party of Kenya (LPK).
Obado said the claims were malicious and were meant to dent hid image ahead the 2017 polls.
He said the claims were works of political opponents out soil his name.
"I only hear through the press that Ababu has a 'Third Force', I have not seen Ababu or gone to him," Obado was quoted by the Star as saying.
The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to ODM.
He said he would seek for re-election in 2017 on an ODM ticket.
Obado faces stiff competition for the governor seat in the next poll from former Cabinet Minister Ochillo Ayacko.
He is however, optimistic that his development record speaks for itself and that he is going to floor all of them.
