Mombasa businessman Tahir Sheikh Said was laid to rest Wednesday, at Saragoi cemetery, where leaders, such as Sheriff Nassir Abdallah Taib.
This is after his body was flown to Kenya, Tuesday, from South Africa where he had been taken for further medication, and taken to his family home at Kizingo.
Mourners assembled at TSS Mosque along Haile Selassie Avenue, Mombasa, where former Chief Kadhi, Sheikh Hammad Kassim led prayers.
Mombasa senator Hassan Omar, former Kisauni MP Anania Mwaboza, politician and businessman Suleiman Shahbal, and governor Hassan Joho’s elder brother Abubakar, also attended the burial event.
"I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Tahir Sheikh Said (TSS). In his life, he contributed immensely to the socio-economic sphere of Mombasa County and the country as a whole. He will fondly be missed,'' said Omar.
The tycoon had invested billions of shillings in the transport industry through TSS buses which ply Mombasa-Nairobi-Malindi route.
