Former West Mugirango MP James Gesami has claimed that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report will only benefit the big boys and not the common mwananchi.
Speaking on Wednesday at Gianchore PAG church grounds during a funds drive in aid of the church, Gesami said that those people in top government offices don't want to get out and instead they are using the BBI report to create more jobs for themselves instead of creating more jobs for Kenyan youths.
"This people on top government seats, the big boys, are creating jobs for themselves, they only want to hold on power and continue earning. The BBI will not benefit ordinary people as per my look. Still, we need more transformations in the government for Kenya to suit us," said the former MP.
He also noted that if BBI would have been favourable, it would have provided more jobs for young people who are jobless to enable them to improve their living standards.
Gesami noted that if the BBI report entailed issues that affect common mwananchi, it would have helped the country move in the right direction.
"I think if the BBI would have been made favourably amended then more places were to be allocated for young people and not the other way round as it is now," he said.
The report launched a few weeks ago proposes among others, creation of the office of Prime Minister, Office of the Leader of Opposition as well as increasing funds channelled to devolved units.
