Kibera fashion stars will have an opportunity to showcase their designs during an event slated for December 27 at Magoso Primary School.
The fashion show is organized by Lilian Wagala, a fashion and design teacher at Magoso.
Among the invited guests is area MP Ken Okoth and Shki Sketomi from Japan.
Speaking to this writer on the phone, Lilian revealed that the event is scheduled to start at 10 am until 4 pm.
‘’The event will not only be a platform for fashion designers to showcase their talent in Kibera but will also be a learning experience for young and aspiring fashion designers," she said.
"Kibera is a place of talents. Many people especially youths love fashion and we want to give them a platform to showcase their designs so that we can learn from each other. We are privileged to have a Member of Parliament who is supportive to youths, I am sure he will be impressed with the efforts of his youths,’ she added.
The event will not be limited to Kibera residents alone and according to the organiser, she has invited people from different parts of the country.
"I have invited many people from all parts of Kenya and even international. I can say we expect a good turn out,’ she concluded.
