Kibra MP Ken Okoth is initiating a workshop on career readiness and job search skills targeting recent graduates within his constituency.
The workshop is meant for those with Bachelor Degrees in Arts, Sciences, or an advanced degree.
The one day workshop sponsored by National Democratic Institute (NDI) in collaboration with the MP’s office is scheduled for December 15 at Shadrack Kimalel Secondary School in Kibera.
Through a Facebook post on Wednesday, Okoth said that they expect at least 100 participants who will fully benefit from the interactive sessions lead by career experts.
"The workshop will include presentations and interactive sessions on; Marketing yourself with a professional CV, Interpersonal skills for group and individual job interviews, making a positive first impression and successful introductions, effective cover letters and emails, mock interviews, web-based job search strategies, personal grooming, and appropriate dressing for the professional world," read the post in part.
All the participants will then receive certificates of completion. He advised the intending participants to forward their details for consideration.
“Due to the limited spaces, young Kibra professionals interested in the workshop should email their CV in word document format and a brief cover letter to kibrajobsoffice@gmail.com or register in person at the Kibra CDF office by Thursday noon.
