Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo says IEBC chairman Isaak Hassan cannot be trusted to lead Kenya into a fair and free election come 2017.
Speaking on NTV 's am Live show on Tuesday morning, Midiwo claimed Hassan is "partisan and has confessed that during the last election that there were some issues but we explained them”.
The outspoken legislator, however, insisted that: “there will be no elections in 2017 with Hassan in office”.
Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura, pushed further the debate on whether to oust IEBC commissioners by claiming that “Isaak Hassan thinks he is a demigod.”
“Jubilee has already fallen into Cord's trap, and this is evident due to how the media both nationally and internationally, has given coverage to Cord demos. That is what Cord wanted, they are making the country ungovernable,” Mwaura said.
However, Kiambu Senator Kimani wa Matangi defended the Jubilee administration saying; “Cord is only trying to divert the attention of the people from the good work that Jubilee has done.”
“We are not defending IEBC, what we want is the right procedure followed to send them (commissioners) home,” Wamatangi said.
“I want the people of Kenya, and leaders from Cord and Jubilee to read Isaiah 1:18. 'Our people come together, let us talk',” said his counterpart Senator Mithika Linturi.
