Jubilee leaders in Mombasa have threatened to take stern action against rogue members ahead of the 2017 general election.
Led by Mombasa governor aspirant Suleiman Shahbal, the leaders said the move is aimed at instilling discipline among members, during the campaign period.
This comes after Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's supporters clashed with Jubilee supporters during the Madaraka Day celebrations at Tononoka grounds on Thursday.
Ananiah Mwaboza, who has also declared interest in the Mombasa gubernatorial seat, condemned the Thursday incident, saying the party will instill discipline among its members, to avoid embarrassing President Uhuru Kenyatta as he seeks re-election next year.
“In politics, the most organised and disciplined parties are usually more successful. What we saw in Tononoka was not the best picture we want to create,” said Mwaboza, as quoted by The Star.
