Bahati legislator Kimani Ngunjiri has called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene in order to bring to an end the persistent land rows in Nakuru County.
During the breakfast meeting held at the Sate House Nakuru on Thursday which was attended by the President, his deputy William Ruto and various county leaders, Ngunjiri appealed to the Head of State to take stern action on leaders who have been inciting communities thus the land tussles that have even claimed lives.
“I want to thank His Excellency the President for touring our county for various development agenda. Our county has had some land issues that have even claimed lives of our dear citizens and others injured in disputes involving some communities. I would like to request the president to intervene on matters of title deeds issuing to these affected pieces of land in a bid to end these disputes.
Further, those leaders who may have a hand in the recent land disputes, inciting communities for their own political gain need to face the law. I therefore call on the President to work with us in bringing this to an end,” Ngunjiri said.
This follows the recent clashes at Utheri wa Lari farm last week that left people injured, Olposimoru clashes, Maella land row among others that have been witnessed in the area.
Uhuru, who is on his second day development tour in the county, has commissioned various projects including water, roads, medical projects among others.
