This is after fire gutted down the facility in a midday incident. According to sources, there might have been a leakage of the fuel which caught fire.

"It is suspected that there was a leakage which led to the outbreak," a fire man, who cannot be named as he is not allowed to speak to the press, said.

The fuel acted as a catalyst making it difficult for fire fighters to put it out. No property was rescued from the go down but the management confirmed there were no casualties.

Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua advised fuel handlers to put in place fire safety mechanism to avoid fatal incidents. The governor spoke when he visited the facility.
