Barely three days ago Kiala reportedly called for a meeting with county officials who unfortunately did not turn up.

Residents say they are annoyed with the fact that the two leaders never agree on anything when it comes to matters of county development.

Speaking to some residents in Machakos town, they said that they don't see the purpose of the two being in office.

"The hatred between Mutua and Kiala is really a challenge to us," said Paul Mutie trader in Machakos town.

"These leaders should either solve their differences amicably or vacate office as their differences have left us on the end of the stick," said Jacenta Munee supermarket attendant in the town.
