The two have been close since their 2018 truce, and are currently pushing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) agenda which is a recipe to constitutional changes.

Manyora on Monday said that contrary to critics' claims that the two are forcing the BBI on Kenyans, they are right to come together if that is what will better the nation.

Responding to Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei's claims that the BBI is the duo's project, he said that it is Uhuru's right to do anything he deems best for Kenyans.

Manyora stated that the two speak for millions of Kenyans, and their decision cannot be branded a two-man agenda, in an interview on NTV's AM Live.

"Raila and Uhuru speak for millions of people, and the president has a duty and responsibility, if he sees that things are going wrong he can call his elder brother and sit together and we have benefitted from that, it doesn't mean it has cured everything," he said.

He also noted that Uhuru should not be questioned when he makes such moves, as it is him who will take the blame should the nation see a repeat of the problems it has been facing.

"If things go wrong, if the country burns, history will record that it happened during the time of Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, that's the time Kenya burnt," he added.

The truce has brought to an end the fights between Raila and Uhuru and their supporters, which were repeatedly witnessed during the 2013 and 2017 presidential polls.
